Remove Private Number Plate by Post

How does postal retention work?

Retention via a postal document allows you to name a grantee and nominee. This means your private number plate will be held in the customer’s name and not transferred to the holder of the logbook. However, this can take between 2-6 weeks, as the process is completed manually by the DVLA. As with the online process, you will be required to pay a DVLA charge of £80 as well as a KINTO admin fee, if applicable to your contract.

Alternatively, you can remove your private number plate via our online portal (The £80 DVLA charge and any associated admin fees will still apply).

How do I proceed?

If you want to retain your private registration number via the postal process, please follow the link below to fill in your details. Once the request is received, we will let you know whether the £80 DVLA charge and KINTO admin fee are applicable to your contract.
