Corporate Social Responsibility

Care, Warmth and Pride

In line with our mission to deliver our services with “care, warmth, and pride,” we’re acutely aware of the need to act responsibly and with a socially ethical conscience. We’re committed to doing so in principle and in practice.

Here, we’ve set out our Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) activities that will drive us towards our mission.

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

As a business, we’re proud that our employees come from varied backgrounds, and we celebrate diversity in all its different forms. Having a team of people who each bring different perspectives enables fresh thinking that caters to the varied needs of our customer base.

We will never discriminate on grounds of age, disability, race, religion, belief, gender, sexual orientation, maternity/paternity, gender reassignment, and/or marital status.

Our policy is based on three core principles

  • Diversity

We value all our employees and customers and treat each person with equal respect.

We believe every person should be valued for their contribution and never judged by their gender, age, disability, race, and/or sexual orientation.
  • Inclusion

We create a working environment where differences are celebrated.

Every person is included, respected, and connected to our success. Discrimination, bullying, and/or victimisation of any kind are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
  • Equality

We are committed to ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.

We remove barriers to success by eliminating discrimination and enabling equal access to opportunities for all employees. No employee should be unfairly treated or placed at a disadvantage due to any employment conditions or company requirements unless those requirements can be clearly justified as being essential for the exceptional operational needs of the business.

All employees, whether part-time, full-time, permanent, or temporary, are to be treated fairly and with respect. Selection for employment, promotion, training, or any other benefit will be made based on aptitude, ability, and future potential.

Every employee is supported in reaching their full potential. Skills and capabilities are fully utilised to maximise business performance and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Initiatives to drive success

  • Employee Engagement, Rewards, and Recognition

We gain feedback from our employees throughout the year with our Employee Engagement Forum.

Our senior leadership team actively engages in face-to-face conversations with employees to get their feedback and suggestions for improvement.

We then act on this feedback to ensure all employees feel valued and supported while at work. A group-wide annual employee survey is also conducted, and the results are used as a basis for improvement. Our employees are rewarded for their engagement, excellent achievements, and outstanding work practices.

  • Environmental Responsibility and Conscience

We hold ISO 14001 certification, which means we conform to a rigorous environmental management system standard.

We understand that caring for the environment is one of our key responsibilities and an important part of the way in which we do business.

Some of the practices we adopt are:

    • Complying with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and approved codes of practice
    • Recycling as much as possible and committing to divert 100% of our waste from landfills
    • Ensuring that we choose low-carbon alternatives and energy-efficient electrical equipment where possible
    • Removing all single-use plastics from our office
    • Using electronic signatures via AdobeSign and electronic document repositories to reduce paper waste

KINTO has a Carbon Reduction Plan that helps us understand the impact our organisation has on the environment and sets out how we can support achieving Net Zero emission by 2050. This provides transparency, so our progress is monitored by us, our suppliers, and our customers.

  • Money Laundering and Financial Crime

We are committed to proactively preventing and detecting money laundering, financial fraud, and other illicit financial activities.

We have established training programmes and procedures to ensure that:

    • All staff are aware of what constitutes suspicion
    • All staff are aware to whom suspicious activities should be reported
    • Any suspicious activities are investigated, and where necessary, proper action is taken.

Our employees are fully aware of the seriousness of money laundering and the penalties they could potentially face for not adhering to our company's requirements and anti-money laundering regulations and legislation.

  • Human Rights and Modern Slavery

We comply with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Our Modern Slavery Statement is published on our website each year. You can read more about it here.
  • Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption

We have a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption.

At KINTO, we pride ourselves on our reputation for integrity and high ethical standards. Bribery and corruption in all forms are unacceptable, illegal, and contrary to our commitment to conduct business that follows rigorous ethical, professional, and legal standards.

More importantly, they compromise the trust of our valued customers. We have training and policies to help increase awareness and combat identified risk areas, including giving and receiving gifts and hospitality.

  • Supporting worthy causes

Our employees are regularly encouraged to take two paid volunteering days off.

Through company-wide programmes, fundraising, and volunteering, we support many worthy causes for the local community.

Our employees are regularly encouraged to take two days of paid volunteering leave. This allows them to work with the local community on projects that require not just financial support but practical support as well.

In addition to our main corporate charities, we also support other worthy causes. Find out more here.
