Salary Sacrifice for Employers

How does it work?

Car salary sacrifice schemes offer a way for employers to provide electric vehicles as a benefit to their employees, allowing them to save on taxes and make the switch to electric driving more affordable. Employers lease the EVs from KINTO and offer them to employees as a salary sacrifice benefit. The employee pays for the car through a portion of their pre-tax salary, allowing them to save on income tax and National Insurance contributions.

If you run a business, salary sacrifice schemes are a fantastic addition to your existing benefits package. They are low risk, come with minimal admin, and help to mitigate grey fleet and associated duty of care issues, with employees driving new and well-maintained cars.

  • Things you should know

Although the benefits of salary sacrifice are primarily intended to be holistic, there are also financial incentives involved. With salary sacrifice, companies are saving their national insurance contribution on the salary sacrificed. This means the money saved may be used in other ways to support the business. For example, the savings can support the funding of other employee benefits or provide a cash injection to help with financial difficulties.

  • Is salary sacrifice right for your business?

Every business is different, so it’s important to know that the scheme you’re choosing is right for yours. There are several factors that affect the suitability of a salary sacrifice scheme, including employee salaries and business turnover. We’ll work with you to understand your business and help you make the right decision, advising you on whether salary sacrifice is the best choice for your business and creating a bespoke package if it is.
